Rum balls with dark fine cocoa chocolate

The following also applies to the fathers of this world: the best gifts are those that come from the heart and these are, of course, homemade gifts. Our rum balls are made with dark fine cocoa chocolate and a lot of love and craftsmanship.

Recipe for 4 people
Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

250 g chocolate sponge base
70 ml rum
125 g fine cocoa chocolate 'Rausch Peru 60 % pistachio brittle'

Preparation:

  1. Crumble the chocolate sponge into small pieces, drizzle the rum over it and mix well.
  2. Melt 60 g of the dark fine cocoa chocolate in a bain-marie and mix well with the sponge and rum mixture to form a paste.
  3. Set some of the liquid chocolate aside.
  4. Shave the remaining 65 g of the fine cocoa chocolate into shavings.
  5. Shape the mixture into rum balls of the desired size. Then moisten with the liquid fine cocoa chocolate and finally roll in the chocolate shavings.

Tips:

For an alcohol-free version, boil 35 ml of water with 35 ml of sugar to replace the rum.

You can also replace the rum with other alcoholic drinks, such as Amaretto.
