Nougat dumplings with sweet breadcrumbs

Dumplings and breadcrumbs are typically known in their savory form. Today it's getting sweet with us. We're showing the sweet side of dumplings today: Nougat dumplings with sweet breadcrumbs.

Recipe for 14 nougat dumplings

Ingredients for the potato dough:

375 g cooked potatoes (mainly waxy)
25 g butter (soft)
25 g soft wheat semolina
1egg yolk
110 g flour
1packet baking powder
1pinch of salt

Ingredient for the filling:

7 pieces of nougat bites

Ingredients for the breadcrumbs:

100 g butter
250 g breadcrumbs or breadcrumbs
70 g sugar
Also 1 pinch of cinnamon to taste

Preparation:

1. Press the cooked potatoes through a potato ricer.
2. Mix with the remaining ingredients and quickly form into a dough.
3. Cover the dough and place in the fridge.
4. Cut the nougat morsel in half and roll it round in the palm of your hand. At the same time, place a pan of water on the stove and bring to the boil.
5. in the meantime, remove the dough from the fridge.
6. divide the dough into approx. 14 equal parts. Now shape the dumplings into balls in the palm of your hand, then press them into small flat cakes and place the nougat balls in the middle.
7. Then cover all over with the dough and shape into dumplings.
8. Place the dumplings in the boiling water, stirring carefully to prevent them from sticking to the bottom.
9. Bring to the boil gently once, then turn the heat down and leave the dumplings in the water for 15 minutes until they float to the surface.
10. Now remove the dumplings from the water and drain well.
11. Melt the butter in a large pan. Gradually add the breadcrumbs and then the sugar. Fry over a low heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown.
12. Roll the finished dumplings in the crumbs and serve.
